It’s been a while since I updated this blog but I figured since today is Independence Day that it would be a great day to have a quick chat with you guys.
My first trip this summer will be a Caribbean cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Seas. We will visit the ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao) and St. Maarten; of the four stops we’ve only been to St. Maarten so it will be nice to visit some new islands this time around. We do have shore excursions planned in each port due to a 30% off sale Royal was having in Cruise Planner so that should be fun. The cruise leaves from San Juan and we decided to head down a day early this time. I’m still working out the details for pre-and post cruise because the cruise doesn’t leave until 8:30pm so that gives us a lot of time on embarkation day to explore San Juan since we won’t be boarding the ship until the afternoon. On debarkation day our flight doesn’t leave until 6pm so we once again have some time to kill. I’m thinking about booking a Bacardi Factory tour even though we’ve been there several times already since it will give us something to do and will drop us and our luggage off at the airport after the tour. I’m most likely going to try my hand at “live” blogging over at Cruise Critic so be sure to check out my thread there (I’ll include the link here once I start the thread).
Not long after we get back from the cruise we’ll be headed back to NYC for the US Open. It’ll be our fourth year attending and we decided to get seats in the American Express suite again. I was a bit late on booking our hotel so our usual Fairfield Inn was already sold out, but I’m excited to try a new place this year. I’ll of course post my review here as it seems like the suite this year is different from last year.
My mom and I took a break from Indian Wells in 2017 but we decided that we will be returning in 2018 and will once again spend a few days in Los Angeles prior to driving to the desert. Also on the horizon for 2018 may be a trip to Europe but that’s still up in the air at the moment.
Do you guys have any exciting plans for the summer? Let me know below!
